My Artist Statement

foreshorten statement Medusa

The subject matter of this piece is foreshortening, and the piece i created is of the Greek mythology monster Medusa with one of her snakes coming at the audience and the elements i used in my piece are foreshortening.

My art work was made from paper that is used for coloring my piece with prizma color pencils and or water color paint. I used prizma color pencils to color in my piece and give it texture and color.

Nothing really inspired me to make this piece i just had a good idea and went with it. My art work does not expresses an emotional or personal feel to it i just thought this would be very enteresting and cool to draw.

My goal as an artist is to work hard and get great at drawing and doing other art projects. This piece did help me get further in my goal, because i tried something new and did really well on my piece.

I learned more on creating art work that as foreshortening in it, and yes this piece did come out as iimaged.this piece will influence more art work in the future because i think this project was really cool and interesting.

Cross Contour Artist Statement

My art work is a drawing of a plague doctor. The subject of my art work is dark, and depressing. the title of my art work is "we all fall down" because the nursery rhyme ring around the rosy was thought to be about the black death because people put roses in the pockets to hide the smell and we all fall down is all of the people who had the disease falling dead.

the the piece was created by using a sharpie marker and using swirling strokes and stippling to get the dark parts of the picture to make is look more 3D and by giving its form and i used the swirls to fill in the dark areas.

My inspiration for this piece was by Shawn Coss's art work because his art work is dark and creepy and has a more depressing meaning to it, so i wanted to make my art work something like his by making something dark and creepy.

My goal as an artist is to make art work that i would like and would want to do and to get better at drawing. And yes this piece helped me reach my goal because my art work turned out in my favor.

I learned how to make art work by shading in the dark areas with a black marker. And my piece came out as i imaged. this piece will influence my future art work by the style i draw it in.

Oil Pastel Artist Statement

My Piece is a skull that is on fire my piece was crated with oil pastel and the obvious element was the color of it, because i used yellow, red, and Orange for the flames and the bright colors made it stand out.

this piece was made by oil pastels which gave it an thick, bold look to it i use the colors on the flames to make it look more realist and extreme. I applied heavy pressure to my piece to give it a bold look to it and i used light to dark to give the skull a more realistic look to it.

My piece was originally going to be a skull with a raven on it but i changed my mind due to the paper being to small for the raven to fit on it, so i changed it to flames because i thought it would look cool to me so i made it look like the marvel hero ghosts rider.

My goal as an artist for this piece was to create a good looking drawings with warm colors to make it look more real and give it good detail to make the piece look proportionate and neat to the viewers.

Overall this piece turned out pretty good, i had a bunch of different ideas but i wanted to stick with this one because I liked it. i will defiantly use oil pastels again in the future because i love how it make the colors stand out.

Portrait Artist Statement

       Paper View       Plain Text View

My piece depicts a young women gassing into the camera. the most obvious element is value. the most obvious principle is contrast.

To create this piece I first graphed out my paper then i drew the picture corresponding with the way the picture looks so i can draw it as realistically and accurately as possible them i use shading pencil to shade out the part of the face.

My inspiration for drawing  the piece was how the way the picture got my attention, i liked the way this women was posing for this close up, the emotion I tried to convey was determination.

My goal as in artist was to make this piece look as realistically as i pictured it would look in my head. I did not reach my goal because the way i drew the face was to unaligned.

By creating this piece i learned how to draw out faces a little bit more realistic. overall i do like this piece because i truly tried and it sort of came out right. I will use what I learned on this piece for future works by using good techniques.

Coil Pot Artist Statement

My coil pot is of a snake climbing up it. And i haven't really thought of a name for  my coil pot yet but i will think of one later. The most obvious element in my art work is form because of the snake model on it.

I thought about this piece my self. And the tools i used for it was materials used to smooth out the clay and to add texture to the clay. I did coil construction for my clay to build up and add things to it.

Nobody really inspire me to do my piece i just thought about it and went with it, and there is no emotion to my piece i just thought about it and did because i thought it would be really cool to make.

my goal as an artist is to make art that i will like doing. This art piece did kinda help me in art. i will do more in the future.

i learned  more technique in doing a coil pot piece. The piece kinda came out as i image and i should of ad more texture to my piece to make it look more interesting and pop out.

Watercolor Artist Statement

This is a landscape piece that i drew in water colors it has a stream to hills and a mountain in the background. I used water color to paint my piece and i used the prospective of the back, mid and for ground to depicted this piece.

This piece was created by using water color paint and a flat tip brush. i used different types of techniques like making the back ground dark to make it look far away and drew thing in more detail to make it look more up close. I used different blend of blue and green to give it more of a look.

My inspiration for this piece was a picture that i sow online of a beautiful landscape. i thought it would be cool and different to draw and paint something like this because i ever did any thing like that.

My goal as an artist is to use the water color paint as i never used before and to make a piece that is unique to my type of style. Water color is kinda hard to use because the water can bleed through the paper and look to other areas of the paper, so you have to wait for the water color to dry.

overall, this piece did not tern out as i imagined and i haven't finished my piece yet and i was stuck on one part of the piece because i did not know what color to use in the back.

Collage Artist Statement-nicki minaj

This piece is a collage of the rapper nicki minaj at the MTV awards.the element that stands out in the piece is the color that transition throughout the paper and the blend i used to match the background.

The piece was created by using cut out magazine paper. i used a technique to make the pieces of paper look like geometrical shape and i made the back ground look like it match with the hair.

My inspiration for this piece was a picture on line that i found of her. And i thought about drawing her when i first heard we were going to do the project and i thought it would be a great idea if i made something like this.

My goal as an artist is to make make art work that i would really like to do and to get better at how i do them. It was hard finding the right pieces of paper to make it look good so i had to find the closes thing to it.

Overall, I think i did a really good job with my piece and it did turn out how i wanted it to turn out. This piece will influence what i do in the future because it was so interesting.

Master's Style Artist St.

What i drew was a lion that has the zodiac sign Leo on its forehead. The title of my art work is Leo. And the elements i used for it was value by making dark and light areas on the lion, and i used color on it to.

The media i got my art work from was the star signs. The tools i used for making my art was a paint brush and paint. And i used big strokes to make a big bold expression for my art work, because the style i was painting in was expressionism and that means to use big, bold strokes.

What inspired me to do my art work was the zodiac signs and i'm a Leo so i thought to draw a lion for it. And a lion that identifies with the sign mean leader ship, power, confidence etc.. And the emotion i'm trying to give is confidence.

My goals as an artist is to get better so one day i can be a professional artist and in away this help me progress on by teaching me new way to do art. And by doing the artwork teaches me different styles to do an art piece.

I learned how to paint in an expressionistic form. And it did kinda tern out how i imaged it  to turn out.this will influence me to draw more stuff like this in the future because it was a learning experience and it showed me how to do it.
